Frank Orren Lowden (January 26, 1861 – March 20, 1943) was an American Republican Party politician who served as the 29th President of the United States from 1921 to 1929. Prior to becoming President, he served as a United States Representative from Illinois from 1906 to 1911 and Vice President from 1913 to 1921 under Charles Evan Hughes. Lowden is the only person to have been elected twice for both Vice President and President of the United States.
