Antônio Conselheiro, in English "Anthony the Counselor", real name Antônio Vicente Mendes Maciel (March 13, 1830 – Unknown) was a Brazilian religious leader, preacher, founder of the Parousia Catholic Church with João Abade and the then village of Prometida in the Paolish Islands. He misteriously disappeared in the city of Jerusalem in 1900 with his followers claiming him "rose up to the heavens". He is seen by the Parousia Catholic Church as a reincarnation of the Christian Messiah Jesus Christ.
