Paul Laxalt
Paul Dominique Laxalt (/ˈlæksɔːlt/ LAK-sawlt; August 2, 1922 – August 6, 2018) was an American attorney and politician who served as the 44th vice president of the United States from 1981 to 1985 under President George H. W. Bush. He previously served as the 22nd governor of Nevada from 1967 to 1971 and a United States senator representing Nevada from 1974 until 1981. He chose to retire in 1984, being replaced as running mate by Kansas senator Bob Dole.
