James Abourezk

James George Abourezk (/ˈæbərɛsk/ AB-ur-esk; February 24, 1931 – February 24, 2023) was an American attorney and politician from South Dakota. A member of the Progressive Party, he served in the United States Senate from 1969 to 1987, and was the Progressive nominee for vice president in 1988.
