'''George Stanley McGovern''' (July 19, 1922&nbsp;– October 21, 2012) was an American historian and South Dakota politician who was President of the United States from 1963 to 1965 and Vice President from 1961 to 1965 as well as 1974 to 1977 as a member of the Progressive Party. Prior to his terms as vice president, he was a U.S. representative from 1957 to 1961, and a senator from 1969 to 1974. He is the only former president to have served as Vice President, as well as the only vice president to have served two non-consecutive terms.
